We use the modules designed by New York State. I worked with a group of 4th grade teachers this summer to make this new curriculum more user friendly for parents and teachers. Each unit is broken down into chapters. Students will receive a booklet for each chapter. The booklet begins with an overview which explains what students will be learning throughout the unit followed by all vocabulary associated with the unit. Each lesson begins with the learning target and a brief tutorial for parents. Next you will find our class work so parents can see how their children are expected to solve each problem. Finally the lesson concludes with the homework problems. In addition, you can access these booklets from home through the district's website. If a child misplaces or leaves his/her book in school, they can access the information and print it from home. Students will be tested at the end of each chapter and also at the end of each unit.
