Reading Workshop is one of my favorite parts of the day!  Students will participate in a tiered reading program designed specifically to meet their individual needs.  I teach Balanced Literacy.  We are using the Treasures reading program this year focusing on specific skills: main idea, making inferences, notetaking, compare/contrast, locating details, features of text, etc.  When students read independently I meet with Guided Reading groups.  These groups consist of students reading on the same level. I am able to target specific skills that these students need to work on during this time.
